Captain Makeover

I did a closeup of my captain and realized it left quite a bit to be desired. So, I revisited a lot of things in a couple days and here's what I came up with. I would put the before and after pictures...but, I'm embarassed how lousy it looked! Here's the picture. Hope you like it!

Spine script

Here's a script I made to automatically rig a spine. What it does is tackles some problems seen in conventional spines. Jason Schliefer's spine is awesome, but I wanted to make it so three problems didn't happen.
1.) Every Control can be rotated in any direction and twist the middle, bottom, and top.
2.) Being able to twist endlessly without any flips ever.
3.) Fixing the typical problem when making an IK spline spine, when using the arclength to drive the scaling of the bones. If you think about it, a curved surface is always longer than linear joints. So the more scaled the curve gets, the more inaccurate the scaling. That's why you get weird scaling. Instead, I used locators along the curve and measured between them linearly. This gives us the true length of the joint chain.

I added ontop of this stretch and volume retention, all with switches on and off.

Monkey Rig

Hey, just wanted to show the monkey rig. I made numerous scripts for this. I'm glad I made them so I could easily and quickly rig the other characters in a couple of minutes. I find that the rigging programs are just a little to limited and heavy.So here it is! I'll show the script videos soon as well as some animation works-in-progress.

Facial Setup

The facial setup is going well. I'm going to exaggerate the expressions slightly, but it seems to be working well. Animation is going decently, 18 out of 58 done!

Updated First Off The Plank Post!

Hello!

Things are progressing and animation begins in a day or two, so I figured I'd show some stuff. The lighting and shading isn't final, I'm getting some help with that. But here's what I've been slaving myself to for quite some time. October rears its head very quickly. Gotta hurry up!

Here's some updates! I'll update more and more as cool things pop out! I hope everyone likes it so far!
